CARRY ME: 100 Years of Handbags
DESCRIPTION
On Tuesday, September 10th, the exhibition “CARRY ME: 100 Years of Handbags”, was open in Lisbon at Centro Colombo. The exhibition has already been presented in several museums around the world and is making its debut in Portugal through the project “Art Arrived at Colombo” (Centro Colombo). With the presence of co-curator Alex Susanna and the ambassador in Portugal, fashion designer Valentim Quaresma. In a structure similar to that of an art gallery, located on the Central Square of Centro Colombo.
The exhibition tells the story of bags, from 1920 to today, bringing together examples of luxury brands that show the evolution of their design, as well as the personalities who popularized their use, making them iconic.
50 luxury handbags on show – some of which connected to personalities such as Jackie Kennedy, Grace Kelly and Princess Diana – Sarah Jessica Parker.
