ALFREDO RAPETTI born in Milan in 1961.
The artistic education of Alfredo Rapetti benefitted from a long family tradition of being surrounded by music, literature and poetry. This was accompanied by a proper education at the School for Comics in Milan.
In his art there are his two great passions: writing and painting. This combination was meant to facilitate visualizing a double process: one simply mental and one solely psychological. This method combines the act of painting with that of writing. The works of the artist follow a particular ideal of pictorial writing.
These writings, even though universal, allow a vision which can focus on certain portions of the art work. From the Nineties to today the artist boasts of substantial activity in the exhibition circle.
There have been, in fact, numerous personal shows and varied collective shows in private as well as in public spaces. Notable among the public places are those exhibits at the Museo della Permanente of Milan, the Salon d’Automne, the Espace Charenton, the Grand Palais of Paris, M’ARS Contemporary Art Museum of Moscow, Palazzo Strozzi of Florence, and at Riga Foreign Art Museum. Among the private shows the most notable ones are those held at the Galleria Cà d’Oro of Rome, Fondazione KPMG of Berlin, Galleria Maretti Arte Monaco of Monte Carlo, Villa Olmo of Como, the Albergo delle Povere of Palermo and at Certosa di San Lorenzo a Padula of Salerno. A lecturer at the ‘Centro Europeo di Toscolano’ and at the ‘Università dell’Immagine’ of Milan and New York and many others.
In 2007 the artist received an invitation to exhibit at the 52nd Biennal of Venice: Pavilion of Arab Syrian Republic. Together with Rapetti the great artists of international fame presenting were Concetto Pozzati, Renato Mambor, Bassem Dahdouh and Nasser Naassan Agha.
Two years later, after a constant research of expressive forms, always tied to literature, Alfredo Rapetti’s work reaches a maturity and an understanding sometimes intimist. This has stimulated the artist to create the exhibition “Bio-Grafia” presented at the Palazzo della Ragione at Mantova.
